LIGHT WEIGHT DESIGN IS AN EASY CHOICE Available in square, non-tapered Tuscan styling, Turncraft Poly Classic DuraGlass columns are made from pultruded fiberglass. This advanced material weighs approximately 65% less than FRP (fiberglass reinforced polymer). Just like wood, DuraGlass columns are easy to handle and can be trimmed on site. WEIGHS LESS. HOLDS MORE. Don't let the lightweight material fool you. Duraglass columns have an extremely high strength-to-weight ratio, and pound-for-pound are stronger than steel in the lengthwise direction. They are stronger and have a higher flexural strength than timber, so you can depend on them for maximum load-bearing capacity. The hollow center is useful as a channel for downspouts wiring and plumbing. These columns are impact resistant and will not permanently deform under impact. LOW MAINTENANCE-FOR LIFE All Turncraft Poly-Classic Columns are virtually maintenance-free. They are impervious to termite and carpenter ant attack as well as staining and decaying fungi.
